Quick question on a GPU upgrade - is it worthy ? - Page 9

Also, looking at your mobos, it looks like a big difference is the addition of usb 3.0. Are you gonna use usb 3.0 much? Because if not, then it would just be an extra cost, and may not be worth the extra money for a performance upgrade that won't be used much. Also, I agree with Aniket, the 880g chipset is a great chipset, and should do you fine.

...(wow.. how much of a research when buildin a pC !)
I did 300+ hours before deciding on mine, then 50+ hours of tweaking with parts until I came to a final decision. But, it is also because I don't like to pay attention in class, so it gives me something to do

Thanks for replying aniket.. !
Okay.. now from gigabyte.. there are simple too many models in this 880g chipset..

which one should I consider among these ?

http://www.gigabyte.com/products/com...3515,3632,3635

And in asus, there are too many models listed
http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM3/AMD_880GSB710

And yeah wafflez.. I might not use USB3.. unless its v r getting USB 3.0 speed flash drives soon..

will come under your budget.
But dont get a 740g chipset, its a crap, all the chipsets under your budget other than 880g are actually AM2+ chipset(but they are revised as AM3)
880G is the only AM3 chipset within your budget.
Go with 880g
Suppose.. I want to cut-down a bit more on the cost. can I go for the 785G's.. what would actually be the difference between these revised AM2+ & AM3 boards ?

Get any 880g motherboard that fits your budget.
NOT MUCH OF A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AM2+ & AM3,but am3 chipset offer a bit better performence.

Okay.. hopefully after much thoughts.. I have settled with the 760G chipset..

and need to choose between..

Asus M5A78L LE vs Gigabyte GA-MA78LMT-US2H

The final Suggestion ?

(I guess the asus M5A78L LE supports AM3+ with a BOIS upgrade too !). not sure about the Gigabyte GA-MA78LMT-US2H

Specs:
http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM3Plus/M5A78L_LE/
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/pro....aspx?pid=3668

Will also be of immense help if someone could give the market rate of these boards..

At least 2gb ram, but seriously, get 4gb. Ram is so cheap right now it's almost a must.

go with ASUS,
It will be under rs3500,
also there is no point of getting a dx11 card(hd6770) if you will use windows xp(dx9),thats a complete foolishness.
Go with 4gb corsair vengeance/xms3 ram.
If that particular asus mobo is not available then get asus m4a78tm le rs2525 in kolkata.

- Is that supposed to be Asus M4A78LT-M LE ? (There is no m4a78tm le listed) and unfortunately, this one does not support the 955 be...

http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD...qxR&templete=2

- do u mean to say win xp will not be able to play dx 11 games ?

Should I also look at the normal Asus M5A78L ? (Not the LE version..)
http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM3Plus/M5A78L/

The only difference that I can see by atleast comparing the specs is.. the M5A78L has "100% All High-quality Conductive Polymer Capacitors" ?

No,win xp don't support dx11 games,you will need win 7.
I highly doubt asus m5a78l will be available in India,so I'm repeatedly asking you to go with asus m4a88tm le.
