Help With Asus Smartdoctor

Thread Starter
Hi. I've got a ati eah5570 1 gb graphic card. I installed asus smartdoctor and i checked the overclocking range enhancement and enable overheat protection options. So now the limit for engine overclocking is 1300 and the limit for memory overclocking is 3200. Since I have no overclocking experience , I have no idea how much i should overclock my graphic card without giving it any damage or causing any overheating problem. I could really use some help. Thanks.

well a 5670 with smart doctor sliders would go from 775/4000 to 900/~4760

and 900/~4650 used to work fine

so try for +100 on the core, +500 on the VRAM

but its really just trial and error and luck, if its not stable you'll see glitches in games, or crashes. And just use something like HWmonitor to track temps, mins/maxes

and the temp limit for a 5670 was ~55C @100% fan in very furmark which is very hard a GPU, it would crash after that, but just look up max safe temp 5570

that auto overheat protection is useful, just set a temp yourself as SDoc doesn't come with that pre-programed right

Thanks for the answer. I've also noticed that there is a HyperDrive mode. It's supposed auto-overclock during playing a game. Which one would you recommend. Overclock manually or automatically?

I used to use manual, I can't remember what the pre-sets set the clocks to, but I went for the maximum

Thanks so i set the clocks to the values you told me to, and the graphic card seems to be stable. Runs BFBC2 with the highest settings available and with a resolution of 1600x900 without any lag. Thanks a lot.
