That right there is proof that you have no idea what competitive H2 was. /thread

Yeah because it's impossible to enjoy custom games and competitive Halo simultaneously. Frankly, if you never enjoyed custom games in Halo 2/3.. I pity you.

EDIT:

Well no kidding Einstein. It's the same exact code with a high-res texture pack and simple particle affects. I wonder how many people will sit here and think "wow, they rebuilt the game, awesome!"
They added MP, which is enough for me BTW: it's not retailing for 60$, its like 39$ I believe.

As someone who has played Halo games since 2001, I can say with some certainty that the button glitches did indeed make H2 more competitive, but this of course was unintentional. I think one of Narzon's points was that a game can be competitive without button glitches, which is absolutely right.

I don't know why you like Halo 3 so much, though, Narzon...BR spread was awful and the hitboxes were terrible. Ever try to snipe someone when you're looking at the back of their head? The hitboxes were so screwy that getting a snipe in this scenario was almost impossible. The general sentiment of the MLG community (I'm an active poster on their forums) is that H3 was the worst Halo game in terms of competitive play. Yes, even Reach is regarded as being better than H3 for competitive play, bloom and armor abilities and all. Halo CE and H2 are 1st and 2nd, respectively, obviously.

As for this remake, it looks good, but they really should have taken the time to remake the multiplayer portion and make it XBL-compatible. That's what everyone really wants. By tacking on some CE maps to Reach's multiplayer, it's a bit of a copout for sure.

so let me get this straight. if i get this, i can play reach multiplayer?

playing halo 1 again plus reach multiplayer without buying reach sounds pretty sweet to me.

Personal opinion I suppose. I do recall in the first few months of the game, there were some horrible hitbox issues. I remember sniping someone in the head, seeing blood come out, and having said person keep full shields. However, after 1.1 I really never saw such issues again. I'm also an infrequent poster on MLG forums (more active on Bungie.net), and frankly I don't recall ever seeing the sentiment that Halo 3 was the worst. I never claimed to be a professional player, but I do consider myself fairly skillful (50 in Doubles/Team Slayer in H3). I could never consider Reach more competitive than H3. Agree to disagree, I suppose.

Now, as for why I liked Halo 3 so much, I absolutely loved the Forge/Theater mode additions, and the custom gametype options. Honestly, custom games for me were just as big a factor as competitive play. I spent hours/days/months doing both. ~2k ranked matches and ~2k custom games in H3 if I recall correctly.

EDIT: I'd just like to thank you for not resorting to memes, insults, and condescending remarks. I'm genuinely thankful some people are still able to voice their disagreements without acting like children here.

i believe so yes. plus you get the maps as well. sounds like a win-win for people who don't have reach or don't feel like tossing out extra money for the maps. Plus its preorder is on sale at newegg with a promo code for $30 pm for the promo code

Thread Starter
I read that this game is not (currently) being developed for PC but the dev "would like to" put it on PC in the future if they get the chance. Halo 1 didnt come out on PC until a while after it came out on Xbox so if it were to come out on PC in the same fashion, it would make sense that there are currently no solid plans for it.
