This is very true, and technically the blue sky is much more accurate. Any planet with an atmosphere thick enough to support life will not be transparent, and will most likely create a blue sky, when light is shining through it. So the new sky is actually more accurate than the original, you may not like it, but it does stay true to actual physics.

Source.

EDIT: Also, if there's an atmosphere, with the light being scattered through it, you would not be able to see stars during the daytime, unless they were very close and bright.

I am hoping this means they also didn't fix the glitches that made the game better like BLB. Hopefully though they improve they networking because Halo 1 was terrible with lag on the Xbox and some how even worse on the PC port. I love Halo 1, but after becoming a PC gamer, I am not sure I could play a game without dedicated servers.

Halo 3 was ok. None of my friends really got into it so it was a bit boring to me. Single player was better than H2 but after I finished it I didn't play it again. Only MP.

ODST - Never finished it. Sucked.

I hate Reach with all my heart. That game sucks IMO. Worse Halo game because it doesn't feel like "Halo" at all to me. Haven't finished single player and MP sucks compare to previous Halo games.

IMO of course and I still love Halo but I'm disappointed that the Anniversary edition is going to be tied to Reach. Don't know if I'm going to buy it yet. I need more information on the multiplayer before I drop money.

I hope Halo 4 goes back to Halo 1 style of single player and Halo 2 style of MP.
I sort of agree in that Halo 1 and 2 were amazing, but I have to say Halo 3 was just as great for me, IMO better than 2. It allows the creativity of the playerbase that came out in Halo 2 to flourish with forge, better game-type customization, and even theater mode (in terms of Machinima). Gameplay was pretty similar to H2, thought with what I feel was better weapon balance (BR spread, sniper recoil). Halo 2 had some better maps, at least I think so, but H3 has some gems like Construct.

ODST I agree was terrible. Super hyped for it, fell flat. The most disappointed I'd ever been for a game.

Reach is a mixed bag. I kind of like the idea of jetpacks, but overall the armor abilities just prove frustrating. Armor lock is of course easy to abuse and extremely annoying to face. Sprint is fine, except that if one person uses it to run away and another person doesn't have it, you have people escaping from DMR fights instead of engaging. It certainly doesn't help competitively. The bloom is an alright idea, and not as terrible as its made out to be, but it's certainly no replacement for a good old BR. H2/3 BR fights made competitive play. And finally, frags. I can't stand Reach frags. It's like a Halo frag, but with the power of a CoD grenade.

That said, I love what they did with Reach forge, and for social play it's pretty damn fun to go 8v8 on Hemorrhage. Firefight was leagues better than ODST's, and though the story was forgettable, fighting elites again was very refreshing.
My biggest problem with Reach isn't even in the game itself, it's just that the competitive scene seems to have vanished, at least out of matchmaking. My friend and I won 13 Team Doubles games in a row back when Doubles was arena. We're pretty good, but that would never happen in H3 doubles. I can pretty much guarantee I'll win any social game I join.

tl;dr H1-3 great, ODST terrible, Reach OK, hoping Halo 4 will be something special.

It's not supposed to be a killer graphics title, just a modern-looking 360 game. If they changed things too much from the "cartoony" Halo look people would complain more about the "style".

Some people will deny anything. It was a style. Do you not notice the sudden and catastrophic change in color tone of everything on screen, including the sky and ring?

This doesn't even make sense. The ring doesn't have enough mass to support Earth's volume of atmosphere, so it must be using some fantastical alien force field technology or something. Thus, the lesser volume of atmosphere should produce less blue coloration, according to your own insistence on using known rules for Earth-like atmosphere coloration

I saw that the water, grass, and terrain became more realistic. Frankly, it's exactly how I'd expect an HD update to look. This coming from a huge Halo "fanboy", I think you're looking into this way too much. The color palette of H1 is severely outdated, and if that's what you mean by "style", I'm sorry. That's an upgrade. It's still an island, on a mechanical ring, with Earth-like conditions.
