Dell U2311H UltraSharp

OR

Dell P2311H

OR

BenQ G2420HD

OR

BenQ G2420HDBL

OR

BenQ G2420HDBE

Which one would you choose for gaming ?

Regardless of the use, I would always go U2311H. IPS panels are in a world of their own The higher response time may be a bit intimidating but I would much rather take picture quality and crazy viewing angels over 2ms response. Heck, most people don't even notice the difference between 8ms and 2ms response times.

The only difference between an IPS panel and a TN panel is that there is no quality loss at different angles. If your looking head on there is no difference in image quality. I can say this because I've used both kinds.

If IPS is important to you, get the U2311H. If an LED-backlit screen is important to you, get the P2311H.

Your best choice would be the U2311H, even though it's not LED-backlit.

It really depends on the monitors you've used for comparison. There is a reason photographers prefer IPS to TN. The color reproduction is much better on IPS panel monitors, colors just seem more realistic. Anyway, i'm no monitor expert, but from the little knowledge I have on the matter, even lower end (cheaper entry level) IPS panels perform better than more expensive TN panels. From what I heard the update to the u2311h should be coming out soon and it will be LED backlight, if I remember correctly

Dell U2311H UltraSharp

The IPS panels have much much much better colors. Unless you have an exceptionally good very rare TN, the IPS is going to make the TN look like crap. The viewing angles are beside the point. The colors are where it's at.

Also, it's not slow like many of the older IPS displays. It's better than the average TN panel for gaming. It has less ghosting and less input lag. Therefore any benefits of TN over that IPS is null.

There is no competition. U2311h. Period. Done. That's it.

No, coming from someone who has been very skeptical of the IPS craze, I can honestly say there is a big difference. Viewing angles aside, my U2211h beats my LN32B650 samsung tv in terms of color accuracy and vibrance. and the samsung tv was an s-pva tv too and samsungs, 2009 second highest line of tvs.

my eyes are having an orgasm. OP just buy the U2311h and see for yourself. I would have gone with U2311h if i had the extra money but decided the extra 1.5" as it is isn't worth the extra 50-60 bucks I would have to pay.

Btw wait for a sale on Dell

Greatly overstated. I have both the Acer g24 and U3011 and yes, for everything non-gaming, its not close. For games, the difference is irrelevant. Games are still using the old as hell srgb
