Hi,

Anyone got any info on HP PLL's im trying
to run a variety of programs that require you to know
the PLL chip...

HP-G61013SA is the laptop im trying to overclock

Just wondering if anyone found a way to identify it
using any software?

TBH. There is no program that will find the computers PLL.
You need to open up the computer and look for a ICS chip.
It could be on the top side of the motherboard, or the bottom side.
The only way to really know is to open it up.

It'll look like this.

Even if you found it, there is a chance it won't be the ones that will support OC'ing.
TBH. Even if it did, software OC'ing isn't ideal. I'm only able to OC mine 400mhz.

Cool cheers for the info dude...

Will have a go at looking for that chip, see what this machine can do...

Found out that HP is a bunch of tw*ts, locked up all the bios settings etc etc

Like selling you a car and welding shut the boot...

No problem.
Mine was located on the underside of the motherboard.
The only way I know this, is that I had an identical laptop board out.
So I didn't have to tear down the whole laptop looking for it.

Laptop's aren't really meant to be OC'd though. They don't really exhaust the heat real well, not to mention. Laptops already run pretty hot because of that. Make sure you monitor the temps carefully.

Cheers Kill / MBudden,

I will go easy on it to begin with, and monitor the temps like you suggested,
i took it apart last night and the only chip i could find that was a pll manufactorer
was a winbond chip... weird thing is tho couldnt see anything that resemebled
a crystal anywhere on the board...

Btw what is a safe top end temp for AMD Phenom II x4? Darksoul on another
thread suggested up to 100.C in general for laptops?

What do you guys reckon? If 100 is tops then i'd obviously aim for 90's top to be
on the safe side???

Cheers
Eddy
