The entire design philosophy of open headphones is not really conducive with exceptional bass reproduction. There are exceptions to the rule, but typically they're pricier and use a closed design with a wider soundstage. I ordered some Denon D2000s because they're pretty well known for having a wide soundstage and great bass. They're double the price of the AD700 and 555s though

I'll be flamed for this, but if you are into serious gaming and also like laying back on your bed and watching movies, look into the logitech g930s. You can increase the bass on them if you want. They are also 7.1 surround sound, and listening to surround sound testers on youtube will make your hair stand up. Clear quality, the mic comes in well, and again, great bass. Oh yeah, and they are wireless and last 10 hours.

Time to put on the fire fighter suit. Bring it on audiophiles!

Funny because YouTube doesn't support 8 channel audio. The Logitech "surround" headsets use Dolby Headphones, which you can utilize on any Xonar card (even the $25 DG) with any stereo headphones. To add to that, the Logitech's sound quality is mediocre for its price. That's why people here don't recommend any gaming headsets. Plenty of people also have had issues with interference with the G930.

Agreed, they certainly aren't the best. Saw talk about gaming headsets on here thats why I mentioned them, can't be any worse than Razer Carcharias, and I got them for way below msrp. You can come across certain videos on youtube that have surround sound, at least I have that sure as hell sounded like it. For the average non-audiophile they don't do too damn bad for a mic+headphones.

Sound Quality issues aside I have always had really horrible luck with "gaming headset" durability.
