Best Soundcard for $50?

Thread Starter
Right now, in my motherboard, I have a PCIe x1 slot, and a PCI slot with a slightly broken Linksys WMP600N wireless adapter in it. I want a soundcard, but I have a limit I put on myself of $50.

So, here's the options:

Refurb Creative X-Fi Titanium ($50)

Asus Xonar DG plus Asus PCE-N10 ($53)

What would be a better option? I know the DG has a built in amp, what about the Titanium? I'll be using this for about half and half gaming and music, with my HARX-900's.

Titanium for gaming, Xonar for music/movies.

I'm also going to be ordering the refurbished Titanium for $50 off of Amazon today. Can't wait to get it.

the creative is nice, I have mine in my lan box right now. Good for gaming and decent for music. Only xonar I have experience with is my STX.

I'd actually recommend the Xonar even for gaming, unless the OP plays a lot of BC2. The Xonar is excellent for positioning in the vast majority of games. It also has the benefit of a small headphone amp and arguably better music quality, plus drivers that are generally considered more stable.
You can find the DG for considerably cheaper, though.

Okay then, I'm going with the DG and the new network card.
