GTX570 on a 500w? (and how many watts for SLI) - Page 2

Corsair AX750 will handle the SLI just fine.

I think I'll be able to run one on my 500w Earthwatts and two in SLI on a 750w. I used this calculator, and even with my i5 OC'd, a bunch of case fans, couple of USB-powered devices, and accounting for future SSD/fan additions I'm still good.

Seems to be running fine on my 500w. Now I'm trying to decide between a 750w or 850w power supply to order. I used that eXtreme power supply calculator but it doesn't show additional wattage for GPU OC's - only CPU. I plan on running this eventually:

i5 2500k OC'd to 4.6GHz/1.35v
2x Twin Frozr III 570's OC'd
2 SATA HDD's
1-2 SSD's
DVD drive
1x200mm fan, 1x140mm LED fan, 4x120mm fan
2 USB-powered devices (portable drive + iPhone)
2x 4GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM

I tried various usage %'s (80, 85, and 90) and it seems like I'll be fine with stock 570's. I'm just not sure how much of a wattage increase there is when OC'ing.

http://www.overclock.net/power-supplies/1045231-phaedrus-quickndirty-psu-calculator.html

"Class 2 (200-275W)
GTX580, GTX570, GTX470, GTX465, GTX285, GTX280, 9800GX2, HD4850x2, HD3870x2, 2900XT = 750W"

"Moderate GPU/VRAM overclocking is already accounted for above. Moderate overclocking means the highest overclock possible with stock cooling and no voltage tweaking.
If voltage tweaking, +25W per GPU"

Ah, so two 570's OC'd to hell and back (even with voltage bump to match 580 speeds) would only consume a max of 450-550w or so? (assuming the higher end of that 200-275 range is the 580, not the 570)

I think my i5 OC'd would use around 125-150w. The rest of my components shouldn't draw too much power (though I'm unsure if the H80 requires additional power since its a water pump and all)

500 for one or 750 for SLI should be fine.

Don't ever use those calculators

This is pretty much it. 750 for SLI.
