Staples got some transformers in on their website. So I left work immediately and went to my local Staples and they placed the order in store and ring me out at the cash register. Thus I was able to use the $100 coupon. Couple that with $75 worth of visa gift cards and I only paid $245 (ironically I used my best buy rz master card to pay the remaining balance as I like getting points rather than none at all).

Win!

Edit: I went with the 16gb version due to the micro sd expandability if I need it. The galaxy was preferable in some ways, but having no micro sd and $100 more (for 16gb) is a tough sale. Plus there is much more info on how to root and oc ther tranformer. And having a galaxy phone I know how bad samsung can be with updates.

Comes with swype but it doesn't seem to work as well as on my phone. Regular onscreen kb is good though.

How did you do this? The Staples that I went to told me that if it's not in store, that I wouldn't be able to use the coupon. The tech guy said that he already tried. If I could somehow use it, that would be awesome, because then I'd get the 32gb version of the Galaxy.

What they did was ordered one from online at the register in the store. And then they ring me out using a barcode on the piece of paper they printed out to pay for it in store. Voila.

Also, I was wondering if overclocking the cpu to 1.4 or 1.6 (once rooted) is safe for the device or if the lifespan would be shortened.

Is that Transformer that you bought normally sold in their store? The Galaxy 32gb is not, and therefore the Staples guy said I couldn't use the coupon in store..

No they do not currently carry the tablet in that location. Although, ironically they just got the galaxy tablets in. Both versions, but they are too expensive in my eyes considering a full laptop can be had at those prices. Less than $400 is more like it considering the technology.

How do you check if a tablet is in store? Is there a way to check online or do you have to call that specific location?

Edit: NM found it..

I just want to say my wife has no idea I bought the tablet and it will be arriving to me Monday. I think it should make a good gift. Although, I am sure we will both use it. But, she was sitting right next to me and said.... "I like the ASUS and it's brown color better." I can't lose, right? Well, my bank account can.... lol
