little help?

Thread Starter
can someone just clarify something for me?
reasons someone on a another forum is trying to ruin my rep and call me "dumb" and "ignorant" ect, really i dont care what they think but i do care that they are going to try and make the whole site hate me because they are a high up member and didnt like that i was pointing out my opinion on buying a dual core using disabled cores rather than just buying a quad core if your spending money on a new gaming computer.

it would be great if maybe someone with some credentials could maybe help me clear this up im sure its an easy thing to answer

1. disabled cpu cores are disabled for a reason and that reason is they failed testing at AMD

2. it is not 100% as safe to use a dual core unlocked into a quad as it would be to use a normal quad core and using cores that have been disabled can/may lead to system problems

Disabled dual cores are disabled for a reason. It is really hit and miss if you get one that will unlock and if you don't get a unlockable one all you did was waste your money. For example I bought a 555BE and it wasn't stable as a quad core so I ended up wasting 90 bucks.

But you can't harm your system by using a faultly dual core, the problems with the disabled cores aren't that bad, they just have degraded preformance and you can always change the CPU back to a dual core anytime you want.
