Common things that I have noticed at least personally with the Deneb CPU's with trying to OC them, is that with the increase in the multiplier also would suggest that you might want to adjust the VDDA voltage, depending if that motherboard has that option. On the 955 and 965 you also might want to adjust the CPU/NB Voltage. 1.2-1.3 should be the range you want to stay within. The average being usually 1.25. Each system will have it's own "sweet spot" for the voltages though. As long as the temps aren't high, you will be okay.

try reset everything on your motherboard, then either you can oc by multiplier or FSB remember FSB x multiplier = your speed

and with volts i don't think you have to touch it but for now try to keep it 1.425v not auto because sometimes it goes too high then you really need
The NB increases performance as you increase GHz.

To not clutter things up too much with, well too much information so not to confuse or cross information. The VDDA Voltage, for AMD CPUs at least, is one of the things that can, and most likely is, associated with a high multiplier when it's pushed up a bit high. It's not technically what it is exactly, but it helps to increase the VDDA Voltage if your motherboard allows it. Since you are doing stock FSB at 200 then hitting the multiplier up only, it would help stability wise.

Do you have the latest bios? Just because it is AM3 compatible, doesn't mean you can over-clock it properly with a AM3 cpu. That is a 2009 board so you may need to get the latest bios from ASUS. Here is your board and all you need for it.

Yes i know read my replys, and if you do everything at once you will confuse a beginner like him. you need a stable OC first then you move on to NB. if you do both you won't know why his either crashing or not posting because both can be unstable.

Dark, I completely agree with you on the possible "confusion" part here. It may be best if the people trying to assist would really work a lot more together off of the info that we are given. Each statement the other has said is actually completely correct, or basically correct given that we all most likely tried to not give too much info.
I would like to request if possible a listing or screen shot of the voltage settings in the BIOS and other frequency settings. If a screenshot if able to be attained by using a utility to monitor such settings.

Is it a C2 stepping ? Won't get much higher then that clock then. Post a cpu-z screenshot.

indeed, if it's not a c3 chip then you will be lucky if you can reach 3.8GHz
