Stick with the 580.

You won't regret. And, I know everyone is like "wait for this, wait for that"

Yeah, well something is always around the corner. Wait for Kepler and then wait for whatever is next after that, then wait for that....

Buy now and don't turn back.

Thanks I'm set on upgrading now, and to Kepler, and I'm really just trying to get the best performance for around $500, so upgradeablity doesn't really matter all that much to me.

Looking at some of those benchmarks for the 6950s, it seems like that's a pretty decent upgrade over the single 580.

I understand your thinking .... I also often spend a lot of money without being too paranoid when I like something

In this case the best option is the gtx 580 ...i like msi twin frozr and gigabyte ultra durable

i don't like crossfire ... AMD has improved scaling, but the frametime distribution is still bad

That's one of the reasons that I'm weary of getting any dual card setups, unless the benefits from dual cards for around the same price are overwhelming.

I'd say stay away from CF if you are going to multi GPU. I've had CF setups with 3870, 4670, 4870 and 6970's and have to say there really was nothing good about any except for the 4670's. Everyone else either gave me worse performance (3870/4870) or the increase wasn't worth the price (6970). The 4670's actually did decent after I overclocked. My FPS jumped quite a bit with them while the 3870's and 4870's gave me lower FPS until I dropped my AA/AF down.

580 if you want to buy now and be able to have a good card and an upgrade option, 460 or refurb 480 if you want to wait or 560 ti's if you want to have a pretty damn good setup over the 580 and then head to the Kepler's later on down the road after they're established a way.

I'd always heard that there were lots of problems with crossfire setups, but I hadn't heard directly from anyone so I wasn't sure.
