Try a program called "Set FSB" for overclocking on a locked board.

I installed BC2 on my SB Macbook Air today and at 1440x990 its playable even on medium settings with no AA. Woulda thought almost any GPU would put the HD3000 to shame!

Spent a few days researching last year, I tried something like that, but the timer crystals on this board weren't supported

i had a similiar issue, i had GTX 460 and a non-overclockable E7300, ended up 30 fps at its top.

upgraded that E7300 into a i5 2500k, boom, 80 fps

just step it down to a lower resolution?
Doesn't really work that way since screen output makes little difference to the CPU workload since it's already being handled by the GPU. The physics of the game are what the CPU is dealing with, explosions, bullets, characters, etc and they don't really change at a lower resolution, lower FOV however...
