Maximus IV Extreme-Z CPU Fan Question

Thread Starter
I recently purchased and installed an Asus Maximus IV Extreme-Z motherboard. I have a 4-pin PWM fan attached to the CPU Fan 4 pin connector on the motherboard.

However, when the computer starts, I receive a CPU Fan error and monitoring the fan via BIOS shows no information. All other fans work correctly.

Should I move the fan to another position on the motherboard?

Or does anybody else have this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I remember having this same "issue" with my old e4400 setup. It's not something you should be worried about. As long as the fan is properly spinning then everything is fine. I'm pretty sure the only reason you're getting this error is because the mobo thinks a cpu fan isn't connected. If you want, you can recheck the connections or try plugging the fan into another connector.
