Crysis 40FPS Feels Slugish - Page 2

Microstutter is not a lie. Sounds like that may be your issue here, on the higher settings one of the cards may just barely be lagging behind or on ahead of the other.

But again, just a theory.

Edit: You can try and use VSync to see if that helps.

Also try switching between window modes. I think its alt+enter. I got real laggy feeling gameplay when it was on 60fps cap, but when it was on 50fps cap it was good.

It's probably microstutter dude, which is common w/multi-gpu, unfortunately.

That is exactly what it's like ... framerate shows as decent, but the gameplay feels like it's running WAAAAAY slower than what the FPS counter says.

You could try different drivers, re-installing the game, making sure both cards are set to run at the exact same clocks via AB/Precision, but aside from that ... not much you can do aside from complain to AMD to get their act together with their drivers instead of worrying exclusively about how their benchmarks look.

You see, the card makers endless quest for the highest possible FPS w/o regard for game-play smoothness is largely to blame for this, because the best possible 'scaling' comes at the cost of the worst-possible microstutter.

Definitely sounds like microstutter. The only way to 100% eliminate it is to make sure your framerates are above your monitor refresh rate.

It's an SLI/CF problem so no single gpu card will ever have this issue.
