Need some quality 120mm front intake fans for an Antec 300 case - Page 2

Let all these fans they suck.
There is ONE unbeatable value for front intake : Silverstone AP121.

Also yeah don't buy Antec 300.

If you're still going to stick with the 300, then I'd agree with any of the recommendations above, though most of them are expensive, aside from the Yates. You can always get a better, but more expensive case with Yates.
Lol if this "was" a "Whats a better case for the money" thread I'd go with the Sentey Optimus for the money range

But anyways... If you get a Scythe Slipstream Fan: LINK

Even at full speed they're not that bad but if you dial the speed down a hair you get excellent airflow/sound ratio I have three of these in my computer and I love them.

Yeah but the AP121 Only pushes 35CFM: LINK

Something like this would be great for GPU cooling to direct air onto them but not too much air

I dont know why lot of people hate Antec 300. Yes it doesnt have painted interior, yes it doesnt have cable management holes, yes it doesnt have toolless mechanism.

But lets face it, IMHO, its got the best/cleanest design upscale look for a case at this price point. and you can mod them I think most people like to do on this forums anyway. w/e not the proper thread to argue just what i think.

To the OP, I have the Scythe Slipstream 1200rpm ones for the front 2 intake fans and they are pretty good! you should give those a try

No cable management is a big no-no for some of us. I would get the Fractal Design Core 3000 over it if I wanted the same looks.

For those who were waiting for the Fractal Design Arc and Core cases, they're on newegg now.

Wow! I didn't expect so much hate for the 300 here. This is actually the first time I have heard anything really negative about this case. I will look at that HAF 912 though and consider it since it has the # of internal 3.5 slots I am looking for in this build. Thanks for the tip!

Concerning the Zalman case, thanks for the tip, but that case looks way too fancy for what I want in this build.

Yeah, I am sorta on a budget for this build, even though I have some spare parts I am going to be using. A lot of these fans recommended in this thread are expensive but seem to be worth it according to the various posters. It is getting even harder to choose because so far, almost everyone in this thread has recommended a different fan, some weren't even on my radar nor was I aware they existed!

I am a guy who loves to get the most bang for his buck, so as of now I am leaning towards those Yate Loons on jab-tech. Around $3.50 for fans that get that much praise should not be overlooked!

Exactly, I was not expecting this much hate. Honestly I choose it because of the decent things I have heard about it in the past and the clean, minimalist look at that price point. I was looking at some Slipstreams last night on Newegg considering them, thanks for the recommendation!

Scythe has made some quiet awesome fans, they are more expensive than run of the mill ones but could be an alternative to the noctua ones

I was looking at Scythe fans last night on newegg and am considering buying some. But there is so damn many "slipstream" models on there I don't know what the differences are between them? Is the differences the RPMs or the amount of air they move?

I learned a lot from my first case, an Antec NSK 4480 II. It was/is an obsolete design. No way anyone should have been selling it in October 2009, but Antec was making it and Newegg was selling it. I was in a hurry to replace a dead computer, did a lot of research, made several good choices. But I went on Antec's rep. Well, I consider the money I spent on that useless tomb to be tuition - the price you pay for an education.

The 300 has only one top vent - in the back. You can only use it for exhaust. No place for a top intake. My cheapo Beta Evo is a better case for air cooling than that.

Look at my sig for some ideas on choosing good cases for air cooling.

Basically - get a good case and low profile RAM. Then you will have the flexibility to do anything you want. Don't lock yourself into rigid solutions. Don't buy something you'll have to replace later. Study twice, buy once.
