Nexus S vs OG Evo (non 3d)

Thread Starter
So ya, I swore I would never make one of these threads.... but I feel like I have to now. This will be my first android (from blackberry), and since the Nexus S and the Evo are the same price, I was wondering what you guys would choose.

I was thinking about going with the Nexus up front because it would get the first updates, but if I am going to be rooting/rom'ing the phone from the beginning, I was wondering if the fast updates really mattered.

Appreciate it... xda forums are a bit overwhelming

As an original Nexus One owner I can vouch that rooting is a fun thing to do with your phone, and the Nexus' are the best option hands down. Also fast updates are very nice. Having gingerbread while other people are waiting for froyo is great. smile.gif

If youre going to root your phone- then standard updates are pointless. About any rooted phone has gingerbread now. Im partial to the Evo because I've owned one for a year. I love it, great ROM/rooting support. Hasnt failed me yet, and still using the original evo I got.

I think youll be happy with either choice. If youre into specs, pick the one that is better for your needs. You could always wait for July 31 and see if you want to get the motorola photon wink.gif
