RAID0 Recovery? Asus AMD to Asus Intel Motherboard?

Thread Starter
Before now I had an ASUS M4A87TD/USB3 motherboard which I ran RAID0 on. Now I have built this system today I forgot to backup stuff on the RAID0 drives...

Is there a way to put my two RAID0 hard drives into my PC and get some stuff of it? They are both Asus boards so I would think it might be possible, but is it?

I just need a few files off, so is there a way to do it through Linux, like Parted Magic or something? I need the files soon though, there's school work and all of my pictures / games / movies on there.

If not, then I will have to just wait and use my friend's motherboard - which is identical to what I was using before now.

ALSO
How do I know which ones were the RAID0 drives? I bought two Seagate Barracudas at the same time and two of the drives that I have end in 8AS and one of them ends in 3AS. Is the 3AS one most likely to be my none - raid drive? The reason I ask is because all three are Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 drives.

Should have marked the ones that you had in the RAID array. Not sure if you can tell any other way, but I would think there has to be some way. I don't think you can get another motherboard to pick up the array, unless it uses the same RAID controller at the very least and most likely the exact same motherboard model. Even then, it is a crap shoot if it will pick it up or not. Your best bet is to use your friends MB and hope the RAID utility will pick up the array. If you can't find out which ones are the ones that you had in the RAID array, I would try the two that had the same ending first, and hope they are it. If not, you can start trying other combo's and hope that his MB will pick up the array once you get the right combo.(you'll have to enter the RAID utility each time you try a new set of drives to check)

I've NEVER had any luck with this btw. Even with an RMA'ed board of the exact same model and raid controller. Maybe I'm just unlucky though, so I wish you luck.
