Consistent computer crashing on OC GTX 570 - Page 2

Here's the product page of the item:

http://www.fticomputer.com/scripts/p...E=PSSU-PWS680W

I also have pics of the box if that would help.

Clearly not high-end, but he figured 680 watts was enough for the card. It was free of charge, so I wouldn't have too big of a problem of actually paying for a better one, but that's only if I have to.

Suntec? Sounds fishy lol.
At first I though 680 is moore than enough but that PSU itself sounds kind of kinky.

Your problem could very well be your PSU, however I don't know enough about it to say. When you look at the label of your PSU (usually on the side) how many amps does the 12V rail (or rails) have?

Do I have to open up the computer for that? Otherwise I don't really see anything on the PSU. Here are pics of the box if it helps any:

I think I'm just going to go ahead and pay for a reputable and solid PSU. They don't look to be too expensive, and it's worth it if I can rely on it working.

I have the PSU link posted previously, but are there any particular units someone could recommend for my specs? I'm probably only going to upgrade my card once more in a year or so, so I just want to make sure the PSU I buy is up to snuff.

I think youd do very well to buy a better PSU,im suprised that same friend who chose your other componets chose this PSU

Get back to us when you have new PSU,id stick my neck out here and say its very likely to be the issue, for $31 new i dont expect that PSU to be up to much at all.

EDIT:

i bet its your PSU' over current protection cutting power out when load is peaking on 12v rail.
At least it has OCP and doesnt just exploded like my Akasa PowerMax850W did, took the damn mobo with it

Ha, well I would certainly rather have my comp restarting than having to deal with that mess!

New PSU it is then. I'll just have to decide which is best for future-proofing without going overboard on the dollars.
