Sound keeps dying while in Minecraft

Thread Starter
Sometimes, when I play MC, my sound will suddenly become nothing but static, and then die completely. Kills sound for windows in general. I end up having to reboot to get it back. Anyone else experience anything like this?

I have this problem with my Audigy card. I personally don't play MC but I have experienced it in other games.

From all the research I've done concerning the issue it seems as though it is a sign of your card going bad, possibly a driver issue or pci slot problem. I've noticed at least on my system it doesn't require a full reboot just log out of windows and back in again.

I would try to update your drivers. Also try moving it to another pci slot.

Edit: I think that the x-fi Fatal1ty Pro XtremeGamer has been known to have this problem with certain drivers a member of a gaming community I'm a part of had this issue back when he got that same card. I tried to find the link to the driver he ended up using to fix it but haven't come across it yet.

I've experienced this, not in minecraft but in games in general after the last Windows update. So not sure whats going on, had no issues before the update.
