Before I lap it.. - Page 6

I tried 4.1GHz WOrks but with the CnQ off so I'm lowering the OC right now
Nice to see a max of 50C after the 3.9GHz OC

You have a point .. less useless metal in b/w = better heat transfer..

My heatsink is flat . always mentioned it . Even included a few pics.. what the problem ??

Lets close this thread .

So from idle you shaved 1-2*c and with load? I dont see before/after temps, could you mind posting them please?

Well :
1. This thread was only to ask questions regarding lapping , not to post any comparable temps.
2. I installed a NEW v6gt only after the lapping , so no before temps

However.
Before ( Hyper 212+)
Idle : 35+C
Load : 55C

After ( lapped , and a new V6GT)
Idle : 32C
Load :<50C
The V6GT is on a variable speed [Q-fan :32C start 4V and full speed at 55C]
I was using CM R4's with the Hyper 212+ on full 2k RMP 90 CFM
So OBV the lapping kicked ***

On a side note -- oil off my hands marked the CPU's copper badly so I had to give it one more 1000 Grit run before I put it in .
Hope the copper stays..

If I was yo' I wouldn't bother lapping ..
The 2600K hasn't nearly as concave a surface as my chip does, and can stand higher temps .
AMD overclocking ---> Goal is to keep the temps below 50C for higher OC's ..
52C+ = errors may creep up ..
60C+ = FAIL for stable overclocks
64C = max rated temps by AMD .

IMAGINE^^ what our 140Watt chips have to put up with :/
