I don't think he lives in Toronto because he said he lives in a small area where no one cares about PCs. If he does live in Toronto then I think he's thread is actually just trolling OCN.
Excuse me but I dont think you know me well enough to make assumptions about me. I contribute to OCN whenever I can and if its something I am knowledgeable about I will answer if I dont I will leave it to someone else. I dont always get rep but i am not about to beg for it and not about to make up BS just for some.

I never said I lived in a small area so please do not twist my words. I have tried to sell previous parts on kijiji and craiglist and nothing has sold, I havent tried selling this card on these sites due to my previous experiences but I already said I will try again. As I said before this card isnt for me so I wouldnt really care if evga didnt redeem my warranty, I would prefer to sell it above anything else.

If you decide to go that route, you may not be guaranteed a new card. They could send you a refurb or B stock card, which already had some issues before. You could end up with a newer card, but probably has a higher chance of breaking.

There's a possibility that you could sabotage your perfectly working card and get a iffy more powerful replacement card that you might RMA again and having even more headaches.

and YOU make companies more skeptical when parts are RMA'd.

There is no glorifying or sweetening what you wanted to do, or thought of doing. Nothing you can say would make it seem more justifiable. Don't do it, Not because you're one person but because you're contributing to it.

Your logic could go so many ways for so many different things you'd find wrong. Just don't do it.

And another thing? You're treating the people posting in your thread badly? No way to gain friends, buddy.

First of all I said I am going to try selling the card on kijiji so I have no idea why this thread is still going.

If you notice I have not treated anyone badly that has not blatently insulted me first. A simple yes no or even this is dishonest comment would have sufficed, but if you resort to calling me names or threatening me with abuse I would not want to make "friends" with you anyways and be expected to be treated badly. I do not wish to argue with further with OCN members so this thread should be closed.

1) Don't do that as it's unethical

2) As of the last time I visited EVGA's bstock listings a couple days ago, they were still selling refurb 260's ... which means even if you do manage to pull this off, they'd just send you a 260 refurb. Since your card is working good now and has a lifetime warranty, a refurb would probably be a step down.

3) Have you looked into using it for like physX or something?

I say do it, with one caveat. I suggest that you take the card and repeatedly smash it edgeways into your face until your thick skull finally snaps the board. Then wipe all the gore off of it and mail it in with your idiotic excuse and get your "free" card.

This is like asking should you blow up your car so your insurance pays for you to get a new one. It is FRAUD, plain and simple, and also illegal if caught.
