Mouse for 9HD

Hey Ya'll about a year ago I bought the SS 9HD and Xai mouse. Throughout owning the Xai I've had to replace my feet twice because eventually they feel gritty against the mousepad. The mouse itself is actually starting to give so I'd like to ask anyone who owns a 9HD.

Which mouse has the best and most durable feet for it/other hard surfaces?

Hmm, maybe something on the cheaper side? $50-60 around?

Any testimonies from people with other mice with my surface?
Honestly, if you like the mouse well enough, try to find a killer deal on a bulk amount of OEM feet or invest in some ultra-durable ones. I've been using a Logitech G700 on a 9HD for about 4 months now and have no complaints. Regardless of the mouse, the 9HD surface will be rougher than most smooth mouse pads on any feet.

No I'm just looking for a new mouse in general to be honest.

Well, I really like the G700; if you're into wireless/wired combo (but mostly plan on using wireless), it is without a doubt the best choice. Not to mention it is incredibly comfortable with a palm grip. I can't recommend anything else, as this is my first gaming mouse (mx performance and mx revolution before this, see the trend?). Whatever you decide on, make sure your research is up to date for what you purchase; for instance, G700 had some sleeping issues with an earlier firmware, but it has since been remedied.

Xai.
I'm coming from a Xai. It's scroll wheel is screwed up now when I mean "it's wearing down." Along with once again the feet being chewed up.I'm just looking for something that won't gets its mouse feet eaten by the 9HD and is comfy and good for hard surfaces.

Hi, new guy. Read threads in future, please.
Irony anyone?

@OP is it even possible to get feet that wont wear on that type of surface?
I mean...its a textured surface for a reason,so the sensor can have excellent tracking, somethings gota wear its either the feet or the mat.

The stock pair of glides lasted for awhile and the replacement ones only about 2 months until they became very bad. 2 months shouldn't really do that.

I just borrowed my brothers G5 and set it on my pad, silky smooth. So it's not the pad haha.

Pretty much, the glides on my Xai makes it feels like there are grains of sand on the outer ends of them. :/

Sometimes a little exposed adhesive from installing replacement mice feet (or from inadequate adhesive clean-up beforehand) can pick up dust and dirt, leading to a scratchy feeling and premature wear. After installation of new mice feet, it's good to do another wipe around the edges of the mousefeet with a paper towel, moistened lightly with isopropyl alcohol, to take off any stray adhesive residue. Don't overdue it with the alcohol, so you don't loosen up your new feet. After a week of use, it's a good idea to do the alcohol wipe again, as the feet may shift a little into their final position, exposing some adhesive again. My mousefeet would usually hold up for about a year. My hard mousepads usually lasted 4-6 months, before they got too shiny and smooth in the middle due to wear, to the point where the increased friction and inconsistent glide bothered me. The 9HD was probably the nicest and best hard pad that I've used, and was the last one I used, before switching over to cloth mousepads.

My brother has oh so graciously donated his G5 which he no longer uses to me and it seems to work fine on the 9HD.

So I guess I'll go with this..hopefully nothing happens. Maybe order some Hyperglides just incase?

it's smooth, the video over exaggerates the texture or should i say lack of...
thats a good thing

Yes, I can feel the texture surface, but tracking is not affected.
The textured surface is there to give greater sensor precision/tracking,its not something that will have a negative effect on your sensor its purely for its benefit.

Same here I use a Xai and 4HD and I haven't had any issues for the 7 months or so I've been using it. mouse pads aren't meant to wear down mouse feet, even hard ones.

If you like the G5 then consider getting a G500 which you can get for 50 or 60 on sale.

Im sure its not the intention of the mouse pad manufacturer but its well know and common sense that something has to wear down if your rubbing something against a textured surface.

I know the mats not made of sandpaper but i suppose its surface may have similar resemblance?

I have a Razor destructor and Kone+ and after about a week or two i can see a very slight build up of debris from mouse feet sort of stuck into the textured surface of my mat where i have made swipes left to right.

A good 5 minutes clean with a microfiber cloth takes it off and confirms its not the mouse pad but the mouse feet that have worn down and left behind debris.
