Anyone else use Spotify?

Thread Starter
I began using a free Spotify account a couple weeks ago and so far I like it a lot. I don't know anyone else who uses it in the US but I know it has been across the pond for a long time.

What do you guys over there think about it? Is it worth it to upgrade? I mean, it sounds great now but is the extra bitrate worth it?

Never heard of it

Is it free? If so what does it do and a link would be nice

I plan on buying the $10 plan for using with my iphone in my car, the cacheable playlists, and the audio quality. The more my A700s get broken in the more imperfections I can hear in the free version, it's sort of getting to be an issue.

Oh! And you can't play the same song more than 5 times in a period of time... not sure what the time frame is but that's a must for me, plus since I disabled WOW and the DVD portion of netflix, I can justify it to my wallet

I got my invitation a few days ago, I love it! I'm using it as a replacement to Doubletwist and iTunes

I have been using Spotify since early 2009.
After hearing a commercial from a company that makes crisps (first day of use) I went premium as I swear to god, if I was to hear that one more time I was sure to kill myself.

As for the "abroad" bonus, aswell as the bitrates, I'd say that the difference is not THAT noticeable, but it is definetly there - depends on how much of an auidophile you are.

Basically, I love Spotify and will stay a premium user for many years to come.

I tried spotify a few days ago, I still prefer grooveshark to it and it's cheaper.

Nice. Seems that this is an "OCN approved" piece of software. I would hate to get sucked into something that I would regret later.

I was a bit ticked off that they don't have any selections from Tool and limited stuff from a lot of other artists, but for those I can just integrated my own library.

I wonder if there is some way to rip some of my old CDs directly from Spotify to my drive so I can include them?

If you rip them to iTunes they'll automatically be seen by spotify, complete metadata and playlists included.

I guess its good if you are lazy and don't really care about music quality. I have a hard time listening to stuff thats not near lossless quality.
