SteelSeries QcK (Polyester Cloth Version) gets dirty really fast. That's why I replaced mines with this.

If you have the desk space and $5 more, you could get the QcK+, same pad, just much bigger. Also if you were planning on getting anything else, purchases over $25 at Amazon come with free shipping.

QcK QcK
- $10

- $15

Amazon.com: Mionix Propus Mouse Pad: Electronics
I eat at my desk regularly, I've had the mousepad for about 2 months now, it's still in perfect condition. Just try not to spill stuff on it and if you're eating something really messy just put a cover over it.

Problem is im a neat/clean freak xD

You know when you rub it against like a napkin, cloth or your finger/palm on your pad it leaves that white mark stuff. I reallyhate those. lol, I didnt like all the tiny lint that falls on it too >.<

Here is what i never understood, once we got laser and optical mouses how can you track better on the bad than just straight on the desk or even a taped down piece of paper

Well, since most mice track on all surfaces by now, the point is to get the right friction for most users. Users of laser mice really just go for the right glide and a pad to not ruin their table.
Users of optical mice can have a harder time getting tracking on some surfaces and as such also need a mouse pad to get tracking. Completely black surfaces actually aren't good for all mice.

And whether they'll admit it or not, a lot of people will blame their mouse/mousepad/computer/monitor/air temperature/Coriolis effect when they miss a shot ingame and will spend hundreds and hundreds of $ to get the right mouse and mouse pad before they finally realize they just suck.

That's not to say that there's no difference between glide and tracking on different mousepads, I'm just saying that a lot of people can't admit that they aren't that good at games. I have noticed bad tracking with a G5 and a QcK, so I know that some combinations aren't good, but it's not a huge problem unless you're an actual pro.

I am sorry, but I don't think buying a mouse pad needs to specify a thread for it !!

I don't mean to degrade the whole thread, but it's just my own view...

with all respect.
