Thread Starter
OK guys so im buying a new computer from scratch.
The component list i have right now is:

i5-2500k
asus gtx 570 direct CUII
4x KINGSTON HYPERX BLU 2 GB ddr3-1600 (2x4gb costs twice as much here in mexico)
Cooler master cmd II advanced
GIGABYTE GA-Z68X-UD3-B3
Samsung DVD burner
64gb Kingston SSD
Viewsonic 27" LED monitor (1080p)
Cooler master silent pro 850w (80+ bronze) (non modular)
Logitech g9x

What do you guys think im skeptic about the motherboard, will it be able to run a second gtx 570 in sli when BF3 comes out??

should i go for a full atx board, its like 80 dollars more.

USAGE: 1920 x 1080 (AA & AF depending on game)
bf3
Diablo 3
crysis 2
Skyrim
MW3
MMO (non issue)

sorry if i missed some important info, this is the first time posting/ building my own PC

Have never overclocked, but for 7 dollars extra i get the "k" processor, but i dout ill overclock couse my house is super warm. (33 Celsius in my room ATM)

You have the SSD for the OS but what about an HDD for storage? Samsung F3 1TB is a good drive. Also, if you're getting the k CPU, you might as well get an aftermarket cooler and push it. Hyper 212+ is a good cheap option that'll keep temps down since it's warn there

You will be able to put another card on the motherboard in sli but since you are using a triple slot card to start with, once the second card is in, the first will probably be choked for air. I'd suggest going with an MSI GTX570 with the twin frozr II cooler on it since it is only dual slot and you can fit another card in there just find with no air starvation issues.

looks good to me except you should get an aftermarket cooler for your i5 and you SHOULD overclock it! My room is always hot too but I am still able to keeo my overclock stable.

Look into the corsair H series

wow thanks for the fast reply guys i didnt expect it

i wanted to change to another make of the gtx 570 but the asus is the only one available (mexico sucks.....)

so the sli asus gtx 570 in a micro atx board is a no go?

i could maybe squeeze in and go for the full atx version but id be left woithout money for games / decent speakers (100 dollar diference)

ill buy a cpu cooler later on when i can afford it.

i have some HDDs from my old rig that im going to migrate (since they dont need 2 be fast)

i also heard my mobo wasent such a great overclocker, but i probably will go for a conservative OC since i dont have any experience doing it.

what FPS should i expect from this on BF2BC, SC2, crysis 2, skyrim) (BF3 = guesstimate) (1920x1080 4xAA 16xAF)

if i plan to moderately overclock the i5 (4.2 -4.4) should i get another mobo or will this be stable enough, i plan on SLI when i need to (probably BF3) WITHOUT oc in the gpu for temp reasons.

should i add extra fans to the side panel? it has 4 slots i think i was thinking of some enermax ut for the time being will be runing on stock fans, should i change stock fan layout or are they good by default?
