Something to keep me going until new build

Thread Starter
Hey,

I've currently got around £2,000 put aside for a new build I'm planning. However, I'm waiting for Sandybridge-E and AMD 7xxxx/Nvidia 6xx comes out.

Until then I'm looking for something to tide me over gaming at 2560x1440 as my 5770 is not really cutting it, especially in newer more demanding games. I don't really want to spend a fortune and would prefer something that I could resell at a later date.

Was thinking of getting:

Asus ATI Radeon HD 6950 DirectCU II 2048MB
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...tid=56&subcat=

Or

Asus GeForce GTX 560Ti DirectCU II
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...14&subcat=1341

Anyone have any suggestions? I'll be overclocking the card when I get it.

Thanks
Rig

If you're overclocking get the 560ti, but the 6950 2gb is good if you can find a reference model.

^^I can not agree more!If you find a reference card and unlock it when you are going to buy a new computer you can also buy one more and do crossfirehttp://www.kitguru.net/components/gr...s-card-review/

6950 should be good, but 520W shoudl be able to pull that on stock, you can run that 1 with a mega OC.

520W is plenty

The 6950 is a better card.. Most of them can overclock to at least 925/1400

520w is plenty. I've used that exact power supply with a quad core and GTX480 without any problems at all.
