The 6750 is the same silicon as a 6770, just lower clocked but that is easily remedied by one of the amd gpu utilities, I've heard good results from the MSI one. Btw, the overclocking of the A8 can be done while UNDERVOLTING at the same time. Massive conservatism by AMD on specc'ing these things and good job by HP in handling power and cooling in the dv6.
Throw in the free blueray optical disk, six gigs, the base 640gig 5400 (7200 rpm just a few bux more) and the 30% off coupon (for ones configured at 999. etc.; and its a pretty fair deal.

Further, there appears to be a lot more gold to be mined from the LLano platform in the dv6. The on chip igpu is VERY sensitive, in a good way, to any increase in the base reference clock and using faster low latency memory. On the desktop version, they're getting around a 30 percent pop in performance by just using speedier memory. The ideal will be to up the base clock from 100 to around 130 or so. That coupled with new soon to be released 8gig 1600 cas 7 mem kits (4gigx2) will let both the proc and igpu sides of the "apu" really fly. Now if we can get updated drivers from AMD to clean up the 'dual graphics' anomalies (works in some instances, not so good in others) AND oclock the discreet 6550 to and beyond the 6770 levels,
the dv6 will respresent some serious *bang for buck*.

AND, all at temperatures that are surprisingly low.
Not bad, not bad at all.

Seer
I'd second that

If you are considering a DV6TQE, I happen to have one for sale

http://www.overclock.net/mobile-comp...-i7-6770m.html

Great laptop, performs very well, I highly recommend it. Mobile i7 smokes anything AMD produces, and the dedicated 6770 is faster than any of the on-die llano chips. Only selling mine because I need something more portable.

Somewhat overpriced =/
Was more or less just curious what platform performed better as far as mobile is concerned

make offer (also adjusted a bit)

The A8 llano IGP has 400 stream processors at 444MHz, with no dedicated memory

The dedicated 6770m has 480 SPs, and 725MHz clock speed, and 1/2GB of dedicated vram
source

So the 6770 will be quite a bit faster, but probably consume more power. That said, most notebooks that use the 6770 have some sort of integrated GPU as well, so the 6770 will switch off to save power.

well, actually the igp does have 400 streamers, AND, it seizes 512megs of system ram for its exclusive use, , BUT, that's not where the llano platform ends it ALSO has a 6750 (same silicon as your dedicated 6770) with onboard 1gig of DDR5, which is easily overclocked PAST the 6770 clocks which adds another 480 streamers....SOOOOOO<

the HP Dv6z ends up with 880 streamers..rocking and rolling behind an also easily overclocked/undervolted quad cpu, in a type of asymetrical crossfire which AMD calls "Dual Graphics".

just to get a feel for the llano's gaming prowess, in 3dmark11 my dv6z has run a p2110 and a nearly 2200 graphics scores. The score would be quite a bit higher but because of an apparent glitch in the current amd drivers, I have to run a background monitoring problem to slow it down enough to complete the physix test phaze of 3dmark11!!!. Even so, I'm not aware of ANYONE with a Dv6t that has come close. Those are sandy bridge 'i' quad and GTX560 range numbers. For around $750.00, that's not too shabby.
