SSD With Budget

Thread Starter
Alright guys, I am in sort of a pickle. I want an SSD as a boot drive BUT also want to store around 5 games on an SSD as well. Here is the catch, I only have $300 in budget for storage for my $3,500 computer I'm building( most of which is spent on 2 MSI GTX 580 Lightning Extremes and 3 120hz 3D monitors). I mean, I'm fine with sticking my games on a hard drive, but I really want to be able to have a select few games on an SSD along with the SSD not being slowed down because of overloading. I figured you couldn't partition an SSD on a Windows computer, but maybe I'm wrong. Any suggestions?

Unless any of you suggest changing something within my build in order to allow more money to be spent on storage. Btw, I want to do 3D surround:
Asus Maximus IV Extreme- already have it
I7 2600k- I need the hyper threading
MSI gtx 580's Lightning Extreme
3 Asus VG 236HE monitors
Corsair AX1200
Corsair H80
Corsair Dominator GT 4x2gb @2133 1.65v
Windows 7
XFX triple monitor stand

And I'm trying to squeeze everything within $3,500. That is my goal. I had originally planned to go with a 64gb SSD boot drove and then a 128gb SSD for storage, both woil be Crucial M4's. But I am open for suggestions

instead of 2 drivers buy one large one

For SSD

For HDD

That gets you pretty close to budget; if you really need to save a few bucks go to a WD green which is a bit slower, or move down to a 1TB Black drive.

You don't need the AX1200, you could save money by getting an AX850 and it would still be enough.

Get rid of the H80 get a good air cooler, get rid of the XFX montior stand get a cheaper tripple stand (the XFX is way overpriced) main thing is that H80. Total waste of money.

That will save you a little more and you can spend more on the SSD.

I didn't think an 850w could power two gtx 580's,plus the rest of the system? And your right valtopps, I'm looking for as much SSD as I can get since this is going to be a very powerful machine, but I'm fine with sacrificing my games to get closer to my budget.

Oh and btw your games arnt going to be any faster on an SSD.... it might load a second faster. Not worth $500 or w/e imo.

Also, what do you all think about the NH-D14 instead? The only reason why I hate air coolers so much is because of my Zalman I have now. That thing is really loud and I hate it, it's louder than anything in my computer.
