Under details under modular it says no.
No mention of modular power supply at corsair site to the CX500 V2
http://www.corsair.com/power-supplie...er-supply.html

The only modular power supply corsair have is AX and HX while TX 3v is announced having a modular power supply its not out yet.

and the lowest corsair have for modular is 650HX which is a very old design which shouldn't be considered compared to the OCZ modular one

Ok. grab that Lian-li - I think I might want to get that case now!

Never intended to buy a non-modular, screw that. Cable management nightmare.

It does look quite rockin

Reading on the Noctua... I am saddened I will be having the TIM it comes with just sit on a shelf since it apparently is quite good But it is so worth paying $4 for Shin Etsu...

I agree that Lian-li is rather sexy indeed but the Silverstone got it going as well

Heres a search on newegg from modular, PFC active, ATX12V power supply from 451-500 and 501-600. Have look and compare it to the PSU recommend list by OCN peeps I linked earlier.
Find the one that matches price point to your needs/looks

I think I am going to go with the OCZ Fatality, already edited the OP with the change. It is reasonably priced and a whopping 550W, plus full modular as expected. Also in the OCN list so I think I am good. It is worth the extra $5 to go from the 500W to the 550W.

Lian Li case might have better cable management... It looks a bit deeper than the Silverstone. But the Silverstone is hella clean and it has the hide away for cables. Do not know which want.

Not really since the difference is so little

http://www.overclock.net/power-suppl...alculator.html

The 500 watt will be capable of running GeForce 580 yet the extra 50 watt wont be enough to run anything higher only giving that slight more headroom for overclocks but though Phaedrus does state in the top

These recommendations INCLUDE headroom and overclocking room. On a system with typical overclocks, you won't be pulling more than 80-90% load on the recommended PSU during STRESS TEST conditions (LinX+Furmark+HDTune), and only 60-75% load during heavy gaming (Crysis, BF:BC2, Metro2033, etc.), and only 10-30% load during idle/light usage situations. This is plenty of headroom. Your PSU will not wear out. It's not a tire. However, I do *strongly* recommend sticking to power supplies listed in OCN's Official Recommended PSU list.
I see your worried about the size of NH-D14 well the Lian-li case dimensions is as follows (W) 245mm x (H) 320mm x (D) 420mm its the width we want to look at and that should be more than capable of housing NH-D14

The Silverstone is 210mm(W) x 374mm(H) x 385mm(D) again the width we are looking at and Silverstone is even so kind to list the maximum height of the CPU cooler which is 165mm.

Seeing as the Noctua NH-D14 is 160mm it will fit fine in both cases.

Edit:
Also you should get the G.Skill Ripjaws X since the older Ripjaws are not optimized for Sandy Bridge I don't know if they are compatible though.

Thanks for another point out. I was wondering the difference between the regulars and the X... Guess I need to read the info at the bottom of the spec sheet more often.

I don't know about anybody else, but I would have built a nice mITX system (since you originally didn't plan on overclocking). My 2c.

Yet he chose the Intel i5 2500k

Well Lian li case can take mITX as well

Only thing you would have to change is motherboard to a mITX form factor and perhaps change the CPU since you can't overclock that much on the mITX just make sure it can take a graphics card

But I would stay with the mATX if it was me :S

btw TIM wise if you already have Shin etsu stay with that but if you have to go buy it just stay with the Noctua since its pretty good as well.
I know, mATX is a much better choice, but if it was for portability, I'd like the smallest as possible lol. No matter what, it will blow any laptop out of the water.
