Choosing a stress test?

Thread Starter
I'm about to do a test with Prime95 @ stock and I am unsure which one to choose because this is my first time. Small FFTs, In-place large FFTs or Blend? Also when should it stop? I just need some general info about this :/

First time Prime-95er!

Prime blend --> Custom --> set "Memory to use" @ 3200 at least.( you have 8G(8000) of RAM, P95 default is 1600)
I use to run it 6-12 hours.

6 hours minimum of Blend. I usually go 8, but honestly I've seen it crash at 10 hours so you can go 12 to be sure.

If you're looking for instability, I've found that the Vantage CPU tests will crash unstable AMD systems pretty quickly, even when they pass OCCT and Prime95. Just select the CPU tests and make it run a loop of 3.

I like to have a goal of 24hrs p95 stable with about 80% Ram usage. Min FFT 2096 max 4096 will bring your quad up to 100%. 6000Mbs of ram in the custom setting will give you about 85% usage. Also try Intel Burn Test. I've only run 10rds so far at maximum but usually my temps are higher in IBT than P95 depending on the amount of stress. I've had 10.5 hours on p95 and i stopped it, got 10rds of IBT and still had a bsod in company of heroes which taxes the system no more than call of duty.
