Effects of Vcore

Thread Starter
Hello everyone!

i was wondering if lowering the vcore would affect anything else like memory or PCIe or anything else.

I am currently in a very hot apartment for the summer that has no AC and ambient temps get pretty high. I have decided to stick to stock speeds for the summer and achieve the lowest vcore to reduce temps but i dont want to decrease the performance of other components.

Stock speeds are more than enough for my rig to max out BC2, which is the most intensive application that i run at the moment. So I wil OC when I see the need in the future.

I have achieved a stable 1.1 vcore and I havent tried going lower yet but i might this week.

Is this affecting anything else apart from the CPU?

The Vcore doesn't effect anything except the CPU, other than perhaps passively through the heat transfer with other components from the heatsink, as unlikely as that is.

Yep, thats a good idea, and when you do begin a gaming session, you might want to manually spin up our GPU fan to 80% or so, to avoid any heat buildup from your video card.

They went down in idle from 45 to 34, and Prime95 and IBT never reach 70. I am not used to these temps since my last 930 idled in the low 50's

EDIT: also BC2 maxes in the low 50's
