Boot Drive for my Dad's HP

Thread Starter
So my dad is upgrading his HP desktop that has this MB.

What do you think the best option is for a boot SSD considering that he doesnt have Sata 6gb/s?

He doesn't play games or need that much sotarge but he wants windows and office to open snappily.

Thanks

Thanks although I have to be honest, that looks a bit expensive for what he needs. Also isn't that the original vertex? I thought we were on vertex 3 now?

Vertex 3 runs off the SATA 6GB/s link though. If you do get it, it will be next to the maximum speeds that SATA 3GB/s can handle, so it'll be around 285mb'ish for read and writes, which is... still good, imo

True, I didn't think I needed a Vertex 3, I was just pointing out that $180 seems somewhat expensive for his needs/abilities (sata 2)

Just noticed that ggodd was also linking to newegg CA, so woops that's no good either

So what about this one? Crucial M4 64GB.

30 bucks off as well for the Crucial guys that make some of the most stable, reliable and best bang for buck SSDs. It should fit office and other apps without any problems, since you did say he doesn't play games. I'd recommend it.
