I rather take a quality 2 year warranty over a pitiful lifetime warranty gimmick.
I RMA'd a 5850 to HIS and had it back within 3 weeks brand new in box. So no complaints there.
maybe i got bad luck with them, hey it happens sometimes but i still refuse to buy them they charged me 145 bucks for it when brand new it was only like 80 bucks.

Personally I doubt ill have the cards for over 5 years anywho. And I've NEVER had a hardware problem in my whole life. Besides the occasional HDD death.

Had a diamond 5870 that was flawless.

Also avoid XFX

Stay away from XFX. Anyone who recommends them should just leave this forum.

XFX, HIS, Sapphire have all been excellent when I've had to use their RMA services (for my cards or for friends cards... I am the go-to guy for computers )

And to haters: How about instead of telling people to avoid XFX, how about you use their service before telling people to avoid them based on a few users bad experience, when you yourself have never used any of their products. You can't judge something without using it yourself. Of course other people's experience will be relevant, but it won't affect your experience with them... be it good or bad.

Despite what people say, the double lifetime warranty is the best around.

Sapphire has been good to me so far, likewise with MSI.

Right now I was onboard with Gigabyte my second 5870 is my first of their product and it has died within 2 weeks, so not very impressed, could just be a bad batch not sure.

Will see after RMA.

XFX is just a no-no, Try and RMA a card that is 4-5 years old, they won't accept it for 2 reasons, they

A. Do not have a replacement for it.
B. Will find some minute thing to blame on you or just beat the thing against the wall and blame it on UPS.

Lifetime warranty is a complete lie... I'm not a believer unless you can point me to someone RMA'n something 5 years + old and getting it back.

HIS I view as a middle end brand, Asus has Always been Top notch in my Books, my Mobo fried Replaced, no issues.

I have 2 Powercolor 6950's enroute, and I feel that powercolor although was a lower end brand before, that they are trying extremely hard to put out HQ products with Support to boot.

______________

Now as for purchasing a card, All reference models are the same, XFX, Sapphire etc, only thing that differs is Warranty and Customer Service.

So Choose what you will;

But Take a good look across the array of XFX cards, they have very spotty reviews with alot of DOA's and deads within weeks, not a good sign.

I don't know about their customer support however Gigabyte is a manufacturer that doesn't try any gimmicks like XFX. They are a great reference manufacturer.

I talk to the guy that had his RMA denied from XFX because of some residue left on the card after manufacturing and they claimed it was his fault. He is now 500 days and counting into the rma and they still have not sent a single card back to him. He recently filed a legal claim against them, waiting to see where it goes.

This is not how product research works. You use testimonials from other users to determine this not just in both product function and performance, but also in service. Now quit being a hater hater as people who dislike have XFX have just cause and are flexing their consumer rights and choices.
