Thermalright or Noctua? [Thread Resurrected] - Page 3

Have a read here, he's owned quite a few top end ones, I was thinking of the Archon next as it wont interfer with the ram at all, but i think i will go a ZEROtherm ZT-10D

Just be aware some coolers perform better the more air they get, like Megahalem and the ZEROtherm do the same, most will top out with fans at around 1500rpm, they still go up but marginally. These own at oc'ing Megahalem and the ZEROtherm

The Archon and Venomous X are real good coolers if you're concerned about the SA or D14 covering ram slots.

Apparently the Archon beat the Silver Arrow.

http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/coo...-archon_4.html

I'm amazed. Is there a heatsink that performs better than the archon?

I wouldn't put too much faith in any one test. Too many variables. The Silver Arrow and the D14 have consistently shown themselves to be amongst the best air coolers. I'm sure the Archon is good too though.

The Archon wins. Near SA temps and doesn't cover RAM slots. Got my answer @ the Archon club thread.

What? Also, the Prolimatech PK-1 performs better. It performs I think 1C behind Indigo Xtreme in the SkinneeLabs 2011 roundup if it's spread good.

Sorry, for some reason those names sounded like thermal paste.

There's only 3 pages, it wouldn't hurt to read them but you're a newer member so I don't mind. I assume you skipped the op?

Thermalright Silver Arrow

I looked up tests and comparisons against the Noctua D14. The Silver Arrow gives lower temps than the D14 by just 1-2 degrees Celsius. Also where I'm from, the Silver Arrow is cheaper by ~$5 US

Can't link you the comparisons I saw. But you can google Silver Arrow vs D14
