How much better?

PEOPLE are saying gtx260 is outdated technology... Which is ridiculous and mean

I don't get why people must always upgrade. And reccomend the newest most expensive cards. Runs all games at max graphics so far. Haven't played Crysis 2 yet. I was comparing mine xfx core 216 vs a $200 gtx 460 msi.

Noticeable differences.. My gtx memory bus is like twice the size. 400 has about 100 more mb of mem. Mem clock is almost twice the speed. Clocks are just a bit higher but withing OCable range. And the 400 has dX11 support.

I've also been told a single 460 would perform better than gtx 460 sli.

Is it really worth upgrading?

It is a significant difference would I upgrade to a 460, No it's old news.

Keplar is on the horizon in 2012, or you could just jump boat and have a more tasteful upgrade with 78XX's from ATI released at the end of this year. 260GTX isn't a very fast card, comparible to a 5770.

well what games do you play that your 260 maxes everything out at? Also, a GTX 460 SLI is on par with a GTX 580... for half the price which actually can max out everything.

about the one 460 outperforming 2 460... well you must've been listening to the people in red...

You answered your own question. If you play at moderate to small resolutions, you don't need to upgrade your GTX 260 unless you're losing sleep over DX11. I'm still using my 4890 which hasn't skipped a beat for me either. I'm also gaming at 1680x1050 which is easily maxed out with my card. If I was gaming at 1920x1200, I'd be borderline running everything maxed out smoothly.

Whether something is worth it or not is solely up to the individual.

If you are playing games at the settings you want with no problem then don't bother spending money a video card. Once you start having issues running your games at high frame rates then you buy a new video card.

gtx 260 are still pretty good,

but only because they overclock quite a bit and still stay quiet and cool

mine did 720/1440 shader 1152 memory for years without problems
