I have GTS 450. My question is can I buy other, different, card and put SLI on the GTS 450 or I must buy another GTS 450 for SLI? I also want to buy a new card, so please help me choose? GTX 460 or GTX 550 Ti or GTX 260? confused.gif

You have to have the same model card for SLI. You can't even SLI a 768mb GTX460 with a 1gb GTX460.

Of the cards you're looking at, the 460 is the fastest.
In progress.

wrong u can sli a 768 with a 1gb 460 the 1gb one disables 256mb of vram and they both run in harmony,OP if u are tight on money getting another 450 for sli will be the best option and it performs close if not better then a 460

Correct. Different amounts of RAM are fine. The actual GPUs just need to be the same.

Yes, but you will only have 1GB usable Vram. You default to the smallest amount between the two cards.

Heres what Im going to say.

IF you know the exact model of your GPU and your power supply can handle two, get a Second GTS450. Two GTS450s will run slightly better then one 460, and there about 50 dollars cheaper.

Now if you plan on selling your 450 on ebay or something, then it might be better to go the 460 route.

With THAT being said, a 450 to 460 upgrade really isnt worth it. If your going to upgrade I personally (talking from experience) would spend a little more and get say a 470.

Ouch DDR3 really kills the mem Bandwidth. I that case a 460 will runs circles around that card.
