sure you can, it will just turn the 1gb card into a 768mb card... as long as its the same gpu chip under the hood u can sli it. Now im not saying GTX580 with a GTX590, even though same gpu the 590 has some parts disabled to meat power requirements on the dual gpu card.

Wow this thread has taken a turn........

First, Bryst you are wrong. That DDR3 memory is fine. The problem is the memory bandwidth itself. It is only running at 128 bit. If it used DDR5 memory, then yes it would be fast. Most cards have used DDR3 for a while and they did well because they had a wider memory bandwidth.

Think of it as a highway. Bigger memory bandwidth = more lanes on the highway. The higher the DDR memory, the faster the cars can go.

The GTX 460 is much faster than the 450.

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/313?vs=316

Also do not get the 560. It is the same thing as the 460. You save money. The 560 Ti on the other hand is much better.

Cheers.

As I said before. They won't SLI. The 768 has different memory bandwith and fewer ROP's. The memory itself is not the only difference.

A 560 is basically just a rebadged 460 with higher stock clocks, and the ti is basically a 460 with all clusters enabled. A 470 is faster clock for clock than any of those cards you mentioned. Stop giving bad advice, as you clearly have no idea what you're talking about.

550w is more than enough for a GTX 460. That could even run a GTX 560ti/GTX 570 if you really wanted to

As for the GTX 460, get this one: http://www.anhoch.com/pcmarket/index.php?pid=32680
