FM2 infrastructure? Uh oh.... that means new socket
Looks like the FX Series of this year is truly the last stop in the road for AM3/AM3+

I'd consider that a yay.

Hopefully we get some good competition, that's all I'm hoping for.

If BD has no chance of being close to SB-E performance, then it has no shot against IB. IB will probably be released sooner than the 2nd gen BD.

IMO it doesn't have a chance against SB except in multithreaded apps. I just want Serox to post his data showing how he came to the conclusion that BD will go against SB-E

i'm still waiting for the day when amd and intel performs equally....then fights for the lower prices....
intel will always win in a price battle ... they have all the money ... i just wish amd would have at least 40% shares of the total market .. so they could be a daily nuisance to intel

this would be more interesting in terms of R&D and future toys for us

Will this support more than dual channel RAM? I hope so. And AMD needs to implement more than 8 SATA ports to be honest.
dual channel is more then enough for desktop us....

Or they're very confident about their CPUs, so that they can allow themselves to piss off some people.
2012 ... they didnt say anything if its Q2 or Q3 2012 .... and your not forced in any way to upgrade ... so why complain???

It seems that AMD is unable to challenge Intel in single core performance, and has changed its strategy to more cores. And although it is a fine idea for servers and multimedia use, it presents no advantage for gaming and the vast majority of day-to-day applications.
Due to consoles, it seems that the vast majority of games are and will remain lightly threaded, and so will not utilize even half the cores on this planned CPU.

Long story short, a chip like this should be a server/workstation CPU and not a consumer desktop one.
LOL how can you know that without an official bulldozer benchmark????

all i see is amd being cheaper to pay for and you say wow i want an intel instead???

LOL and no you dont know the performance of bulldozer ....

even if amd is aiming it at sandy and not sandy-e it doesnt mean it wont give it a good fight for a good price ....

again ... how do you know with certainty that it wont provide a good and equal fight with sandy on a core to core basis and go up to sandy-e level in highly threaded apps ???

Based off every leak BD has had. Now i'm not saying i wouldn't welcome it to destroy SB in everything and throne a new king but i just don't believe in miracles and it would be a miracle if that happened.
