Is this vcore good for a 2600K @ 4.5GHz?

Most of the time it's 1.320, although sometimes it fluctuates to 1.332

Also, regardless of HT on or off, the number stays the same.

Can someone explains to me what load-line calibration means? On my motherboard, instead of letting me put in number, I was given seven different levels to choose from, and I didn't recall seeing the motherboard's manual explained anything about it in detail.

i would say that is a pretty decent vcore, its better than mine.

load line callibration, or LLC helps moderate vdroop which is when the vcore drops during load and can cause instability. with LLC enabled it adds vcore under load to keep the droop to a minimum and help keep the system stable.

regarding the settings, i cant help you much there my board simply has an "on/off" option basically, but from what i understand, start with the "medium" setting in the LLC, whether that is a number 3-4 and then test for stability and change if needed from there.

I believe I am at 1.344 for 4.6, so yours looks about right. Make sure to test prime95 for 24 hours to make sure its stable and your temps are reasonable.

Test with Linx and have windows SP1 installled. Linx will make it run hotter and probably require more Vcore.

If it stays stable for 20 runs max memory your done and can start testing with prime95.

I always start with Linx, it only take's a few minute's and pushes your CPU harder then prime95. I call it stable after 20 runs linx and 6+ hours prime95 blend.
Prime95 is good for long term stability testing but its not so good to see your max temperature's.

If still stable on 1.332Vcore @ 4,5ghz you got yourself an ok chip.
I need 1.368Vcore for 4,6ghz stable. dont know for 4,5ghz [i bet around 1.32~1.33V to]

So it sounds like my chip is a normal batch one then

I still haven't try to stress it with LinX or IBT yet. Last time I tried it, my defective fan made temp jumps to 90+ celsius and I had to return it. Waiting for the NH-D14 right now. Thanks for all comments.
