Btw, I mentioned single card, not sli or crossfire. Even though it will still out perform the 6950. When you get beat, you get spanked.

I understand you are a noble amd fan, I tried it, it sucked, now I'm back to nvidia. You won't convince me otherwise nor to change my opinion which I have first hand to recommend to others.
Boy... talk about fanboyism and flaming, i dont want to pick a fight lol, chill out.
Btw didnt know benchmark showed direct influence on how gpus will perform at games. Nice to know.

Still stand for the 6990

Ha! I'm a fanboy of what works, not what doesn't

When amd drivers suck, they make ppl go crazy

Back on topic: 3gb is plenty for three screen gaming. My old 6950s did hit their vram wall when trying to maxout metro 2033 (game).

Not dissing the cards, only the crappy drivers that didn't work for me, even after multiple reinstalls and reformats.

When I got my nvidia 580, driversweeper amd drivers, popped in card, install nv drivers, restart, and bam! Lock, stocked, and ready to roll. No messing around or adjusting and trying to figure out how to get the most out of the card. For those who want a more involved approach go with amd though caution, frustration may ensue.
Then again, the 580 costs way more than a 6950/6970. You're the biggest troll I've seen in a long time and I've got not idea how you acquired your rep. You're obviously biased to the max. Even posting childish comments as: "You haven't tried Nvidia, which makes you biased towards them". This is so sad it's not even funny -you're clearly the biased one.

I had problems with my GTX 260, so by your logic Nvidia sucks and I should change to AMD. You're actually lying to everyone on these forums while making it clear that your opinion is superior to theirs.

You have shown again and again that there's no point trying to reason with you. I suggest you stop posting if this is the best you can do.

Yeah, paying more for inferior performance. SLI 580 doesn't even stand a chance vs 6990 + 6970.

Gentelmen - if you can't post an opinion without knocking someone else down or allowing someone else with an opinion to post please do not make remarks.

It's best if you just state your response to the OP, give your opinion and move on. It also helps if you stick with the subject on hand.

It becomes unproductive to the thread by bringing up other cards that isn't even being discussed with false statements only diminishes your interigity and shows bias.

OP - the AMD 6990 is a great card. I'd pick it over the GTX 590 if your not going to go 3D Vision. It's a better over clock and solid card overall. Only down side of it, is the very loud fan to keep it cool. If the GTX 590 didn't have the issues with either VRM or BIOS (verdict still to be figured out) limiting this card to it's true potential I'd choose it. Unfortunately it's not the case.

6990, more vram 1st of all. Plus I heard AMD was better in the triple display area more so then Nvidia. The 3GB 580's are also very nice for surround.

SLI 580 3gb would cost far more than a single 6990 lol. 6990+6970 would get u better performance for lesser cash
