Hey guys ,

Im kinda new in this building your own desktop thing so im not sure of what part matches up with the other. These are the parts I would like to put together so if you guys can tell me what doesn't work together that would be nice.

CPU- AMD Athlon II X3 Rana 3.2 GHz
Memory- G.SKILL Ripjaws 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600
Motherboard- ASRock AM3 M3A770DE
Power Supply- Rosewill 700W ATX PSU
Case- Rosewill BLACKHAWK
Hard Drive- Western Digital 500GB 7200RPM 16MB Cache
Optical Drive- ASUS DVD Burner
Video Card- XFX ATI Radeon HD 5550 1GB

Is there any compatibility problems?
Or is there something im missing thats critical to running the computer?

Thanks in advance (:

There won't be any compatibility issue, but I'd strongly recommend you to go for a better GPU if you are gonna play games on this PC, 5550 is not for gaming actually.

So compatibility isn't a issue at all?

Im trying to keep my budget as low as possible. If 5550 isn't really for gaming, which one would you reccommend that isn't very pricy.

AMD Radeon 5670.
Also you can cut down on that PSU greatly, A good 500w will do.
EDIT: On second thought AMD Radeon 6670

I assume you have a case to put that stuff in. As for the grafics card I go for a Radeon HD 5770 or gtx 550 at least. Of course higher is better so it all maters on how much your budget is.

I was just looking at this:
http://shop.ebay.com.au/i.html?_nkw=....c0.m270.l1313

Is that the one you are talking about?

And I was going to go with a good cooling case; Rosewill Blackhawk.
But with AMDrocks saying I should get a GPU like AMD Radeon 6670 I think im going to get a cheaper case.

Also would I need a CPU fan with this?

Doesn't look like there'll be anything wrong with it. You might want to spend more time looking around, i.e. you may be able to find something for better value i.e. better GPU for similar price. What particular Rosewill 700W are you looking for though? That seems fishy. You really only need a 400-500W to power up a single card mid-range system and for a still lower price you could get a better quality one.

Post your budget. I think you can do better than that.

I have changed my thoughts to a 500W power supply now.

My budget is awfully low though. I only want to use $600 for the tower which leaves $500 left because I still need to buy a windows 7 program. :/
