Help me improve my audio experience

Thread Starter
So i am pretty much a nub in audio looking to get some HD audio to go with my new gaming rig. Right now i am using Logitech Z5300 5.1 and this sound card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16829102002

I am looking to spend about $200 to improve my audio set up. Any suggestion would be helpful. Also, i am not really a head phone person since i only use it at night time but i dont mind getting a good headphone. I play variety of games from RPG to FPS and even some RTS

well , it's your first post so Welcome to OCN

For a sound card get the Xonar DX ~80$ or if you are hardcore gamer get the X-Fi titanium ~80$(not the Fatal1ty edition) , you can get the Titanium HD 140$ but it's only 2 channles analogue so it will not work with your speakers

As for headphones get the A700 , those are great for gaming and about 90$

Uh, your onboard is more likely better than that old POS. I'd definitely add a soundcard in the mix.
