No reason apart from curiousity to be honest, i have seen mention that when people read a review from [H] they disregard it, and was wondering if it was a largely held opinion.

The technology review industry itself is so Intel/nVidia biased that hard ocp often appears biased towards AMD. They are not biased however, and having met Kyle I know he is a straight shooter.

Didn'nt mean to imply that the poll was damaging..I mean their actions if
bias...word would spread fast...
Like I said..great points on both sides.
I now see your side clearly...thats why I had to go with undecided.
Because my business sense say a company in the business of selling opinion cant be tagged bias..or "opinions for sale."
Rookie mistake...maybe....rookie with a bias...in the case you pointed out...probably..
Ill bet though brother, that they will be watching this closer after your
poll....thanks...good looking out...c.

I do not care for their graphs or their relative settings, tbh... but bias that does not make wink.gif

Well, if they were biased, they wouldn't have bothered revisiting their initial review and upgraded the CPU and published the new results now, would they?

Tom's has a pretty good bias creeping in lately. Did you look at the comparison of 32 mid range cards they did recently? They compared factory OCed 560Ti cards against a stock 6950 and said that the 560Ti is the better card to buy, ignoring the fact that there are OCed 6950s as well, which soundly beat OCed 560 Tis..

With an Uproar from the community such as the one witnessed on their forum, it would've been detrimental "not" to run the bench again.

I do see your point with the 6950's, though, if the article you are refering to, is the one i read, it was the SOC version from gigabyte with the 1ghz core clock? They also said it was very close in comparison to the 570 as well (at stock clocks of course), but the point i think they were trying to make is that Nvidia's 3rd fastest (single GPU card) offering can compete with AMD's 2nd fastest offering, at the time, the 560Ti's were cheaper then the 6950's i believe.
Note: most of the SOC cards were unstable from factory so they had to reduce the core to 950. tongue.gif

Regardless of Tom's, i normally search for my reviews (and read) on google for the most part and average results over all the tests, much like TPU do.

Cheers,

Ishi

Yes, they are biased, but they are also my favourite review site.
The irony of their cpu power consumption has lead to very interesting discussions in another forum, one that I used to discredit gtx 460 quite ridiculously. Since their overclocked i7 920 makes for a hefty base power consumption, the gtx 460 base system ended up using 454 watts that seems dangerous for a card recommended with 450-500 watt power supplies.
Also, I enjoyed how they abolished Nvidia's 16x custom antialiasing mode stating Ati's 12x edge detect enabled antialiasing was superior which it indeed was.
Not many sites bother getting in depth with the matters at hand and I don't think they should be blamed if they had to round off at some point. They still give more info than many others.
One other note is, they are always straight with the results and don't mix and match new reviews with old ones like some do(cough Anand cough).
