Naga vs G700

Thread Starter
Hi all,
i need a new mouse for MMORPG so what i'm looking for is lots of buttons
I've narrowed down the list of possible mice to these two.
I like the buttons position on the G700 and the fact 2 of them are placed in the scroll wheel, in fact what bothers me more about the Naga is how easy the 12 lateral buttons could be to reach, any owner of the Naga could give a feedback about it?
Overall it looks like the G700 might be better regarding the buttons placement but it has batteries and it could be too heavy...
The price is almost the same (G700 a little less).

What do you think? I'm not sure what to buy honestly and i can't try them unfortunately so i have to blind buy them.

Thanks

The Naga uses the Philips Twin Eye sensor and the G7000 uses the ADNS-9500 (actually I think it's the S9500). The Philips Twin Eye sensor has a Z axis (aka lift) problem. The ADNS-9500 just has about 5% acceleration which shouldn't bother you too much. Although I've heard the G700 has quite a lot of problems with things like onboard memory.

Assuming your playing WoW.

Speaking as a person who has been playing MMOs for 10 years now (thats not including years of multiplayer experience via LAN in RPGs), don't go with either. Buttons on your mouse are not only a crutch, but very clumsy too. Use your number keys on your keyboard. Easier to decifer what button you are pressing. Think about it, do you really want to try and figure out which button is which on the Naga? Thats a lot of friggin buttons in a little space. Invest in a Xai, or something simply and well built. You will be much happier. Flashy stuff are not that great.

I have no experience with the g700, so I won't comment on it.

The naga I have found to be very small for my hands. My hands are somewhat large, so most mice have this problem for me, but the naga is a very small mouse. Because of this, I have to claw grip in order to hit the side buttons, but this also causes me to move the mouse when I hit a button. Now I usually play with it on a high sensitivity, so this is annoying.

Now with wow I had originally got the naga to use for mouseover healing with grid+clique. I never bothered with setting it up because it was too frustrating to constantly use the side buttons. It is good for abilities that you don't use all the time, maybe with a 30s cooldown, and you have time to prepare your hand to steady the mouse. Having reactionary button on the side can be tricky.

In the end, I would likely go with the g700 or another mouse when my current naga dies, mostly because of how small it is, and the size of my hands.

I was looking at the naga myself for WoW (which I'm assuming this is for). The g700 looks like it would be awkward to get to some of the buttons on the top. The naga has them all grouped in one area. They also have a dedicated addon for WoW. I've heard that the 10-12 are a bit of a reach depending on your hand size. It appears the g700 needs battery no matter what to function, so if you need the wireless capability, the g700 is your choice. Otherwise I would personally pick up a naga.

I use a Naga for playing all of my games, but mainly got it for City of Heroes. If you're like me, you can always use more quick access buttons for power/commands. I love mine.

To add some info, yes i'm playing WoW and i use palm grip with my G5 now.
Honestly i will not use wireless mode, i'm used to the wire and it really doesn't bother me.

thanks for the comments.
