Need Massive Help

Thread Starter
Hi there :]

yes i'm about 90% sure i posted this in the wrong thread, but i've seriously been searching for the correction section to post this for like 10 minutes, so either im blind or you guys keep a complicated place here

Anyway if you still care to read about my problem and wish to help me i will appreciate that a lot.

Basically i gonna tell you my current system, and then i'll propose an upgrade.
I hope you will be able to tell me if this will work good or if its gonna fail.

Mostly im scared about my RAM not being good enough, honesly im not sure how it works anyway. A Person calling himself hukkel directed me here. he said an i quote ''Those guys really know thier stuff''.

Also, you do not need to tell me if my current system is lolz-terrible.
That's why im upgrading xD

ASUS M4A785-M
AMD Athlon 2 X2 250 AM3 3.0 Ghz Dual Core [Dont Laugh Yet]
250 Watt Power Supply [Dont Laugh Yet]
NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT 1 GB Dedicated Memory [Dont Laugh Yet]
4 GB DDR2 RAM 400 MHz & Dual Channeled

Irrelevant stuff:
160 GB HDD + 500 GB + 1 TB External HDD
52x CD/DVD-Rom & Writer

All in All i have bad processor, bad graphics card & low power supply.
The ''Don't Laugh Yet'' thing is there because those 3 are the things im going to upgrade, unless you say no.

Im thinking about switching them out with these 3 items.

AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition
Silver Power SP-SS500 500W PSU
Sapphire Radeon HD 6850 1GB GDDR5

If i do this and reboot my computer, will it become super fast and support 2 screens @ 1080p Resolution? Also will my RAM be sufficient?

Again apologies for posting in the wrong section, as said before im retarded and i cant find anything.

Fill out your system specs in the user CP (at the top of the page). This will help us help you. Also, the correct section for this would be AMD - General.

Along with your GPU and CPU, your HDD and Ram may end up being a significant bottleneck for daily tasks. Your current ram is slow compared to anything from the past few years. (I do not know anything about AMD, but will your proposed processor be supported on your current motherboard? If you end up getting a new motherboard it probably won't support DDR2 memory.)

Another thing to boost your overall performance would be to reinstall a fresh copy of Windows.

ok so check it out,
the new AMD Bulldozer series is coming out fairly soon
it's an 8core processor and i strongly recommend you check it out. it's going to be a pretty good i7 competitor (hopefully)
for the PSU i would go with something like a http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139005
would be awesome. it's a great product with awesome customer service and the price is just as good.
the 6850 is a good card from what i hear

EDIT:

he is definately correct about your RAM. you can let the HDDs slide but you should definately get something at 7500RPM+. that'll at least keep you satisfied
