It's tough to see in that picture because of the nature of the elements - majority of the hair is vertical, making aliasing tough to see, and her face doesn't benefit from the MLAA in that picture. This is an instance where the screenshot doesn't show the benefit, a better screenshot or just seeing the scene in action would show it much better.

MSAA always looks so much better than MLAA. Sometimes I prefer no AA compared to MLAA, simply because it makes everything so blurry.

Why is this, and which of the two is the most taxing?

the one on the right is BLURRY. and the one on the left is nice and sharp. however, jaggies are still a NO WANT. but i prefer the crispness.
