weird issues with cmos/bios on z68 ud7

This is weird, never have seen this before. Somehow since last night, my computer become unbootable, I didn't change any settings, just wouldn't start up, got stuck in turn off turn on loop. I cleared cmos twice, nothing. popped out battery, that got it back to defaults. So I loaded optimized defaults and made sure things looked right (no oc yet) and right when I hit Y for yes save cmos settings, bam it shut down right there and then. It will boot to windows, now with no problems, its just weird to see all these issues I've ben having over the past couple of days...

Have you tried flashing to the latest BIOS?

Have you checked for any loose connections anywhere inside (and even outside)?

Yes bios is latest f8, and just looked for loose connections.

Hmmm, could be the Vertex 3 perhaps? I know this is going to sound crazy but if you're on the v2.06 or v2.08 firmware, this is a possibility that the firmware may have caused things to acted up, since there have been reported startup issues etc.

There's a v2.09 (http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/fo...-with-other-FW.)

The question is though, do you get any stuttering or crashes with the Vertex 3? I'd update only if you do get those problems.

I'm still thinking something (potentially your SSD) may have gave your system some hiccups for a short time, but wasn't a huge, core problem, so it just went away.

yup i read only to update to that version if you are having issue with it, the only issues I'm having I think were related to ram XMP profile. When set back to normal, the restart issue stopped. Will have to research that more later, other more pressing things at hand now...
