EVGA GTX 570 1.2GB vs 2.5GB - Page 2

Well I'm currently using two monitors, I use them for web surfing and when I do any type of editing, does that matter with VRAM? Or do the two monitors only matter when I'm GAMING on both screens?

Like I said, when I surf the web, video edit, after effects, photoshop it's all done on two screens.

That's still enough tbh, I thought you'd be using both for gaming at the same time, because that's when the extra RAM will help, but regardless, the difference will still not be night and day.

You'll still get a better performance boost from OC'ing the card anyway, and that should prove beneficial on multi-monitors since you're really putting workload and stress on them.

I hit 1.45GB VRAM use on Arma 2 at 1080p. Modded games need even more VRAM.

Alright awesome, thanks for all the information guys.

Now I'm stuck between getting a regular EVGA GTX 570 or should I run and get an EVGA Classified GTX 570?

GTX 570 / GTX 570 CLASSIFIED

Core Clock - 732MHz / 822MHz
Shader Clock - 1464MHz / 1645MHz
Stream Processors - 480 / 480
Effective Memory Clock - 3800MHz / 3902MHz
HDMI - 1x Mini-HDMI / 1x HDMI
Price - $329.99 / $359.99

Thoughts? Thanks again!

Get the classified. Better card.

Some competitor needs to make another 2560MB card to get the competition and price drops rolling!

I'll also be watercooling this card, not sure if this dictates everyone's decision lol. Is the Classified a reference design? I'm not sure, how would I be able to check that?

The Classified is factory overclocked so if you get the regular and overclock it yourself it will be the same...
It would be a better idea to get a non-reference 570, like this.

I'd go with a non-reference design but then I'd have some trouble finding waterblocks, I'm not insane on looks but I certainly like to have my PC looking slick.

I also like EVGA for their lifetime warranty, does Gigabyte offer that?

By the time you started to see that 2.5GB put to use, you'll need a faster graphics card anyway, imo .

Gottcha', so the VRAM decision is settled and I'll be going with the 1.2 GB, a reference design graphics card would be a lot less of a hassle for me. I could use my Koolance waterblock and be done with it with my Classified card so that's probably what I'm going to end up doing unless someone has a better idea.
